Professor and Torah Scholar, Rabbi, Dr. David Berger

our Scholar in Residence this Shabbat. Rabbi Berger
is
Broeklundian Professor of History at Brooklyn College
and
the CUNY Graduate Center and a visiting professor at
Yeshiva University's Bernard Revel Graduate School.

News
Junior Congregation now exists for 4thto 6th graders.
This
includes davening while learning about the davening.
Each
week, a parent of a participating child will help the
leaders.
If your child is in the group, they should not daven
in
advance. Please make every effort to be on time. If
you are
interested in joining the “rotation” of
fathers helping in this
group please contact Larry Stiefel.
Youth Department’s 3rd Annual Chanukah Carnival
is on
December 10th from 10:00a-12:00p at YIOT. Featuring
fun
booths, fabulous art projects, delicious food and
great
prizes. Membership participation makes this event a
great
success. If you can help run a booth, please contact

Cleaning the Coat Rooms
The coat rooms will be cleaned out on November 15th.
Please go through the coat rooms to see if you left
anything behind. Any clothes left will be donated to a
worthy charity.
Scholar in Residence

Chanukah Toy Drive
Drop off your gifts at the Kirschners (39 Lindbergh Blvd.)
by December 6th. Gifts should be new, unwrapped, and
have the price tag removed. For more information, contact

Parent-Child Learning
YIOT’s Parent/Child Learning begins this Motzaei Shabbat
from 6:30-7:30p. Join us for fun, prizes and most of all
learning! If you're a parent bring your child and if you’re a
child bring your parent and join us for a great time. For

Project Ezrah Dinner
Project EZRAH’s Dinner will be on November 11th at 8:00p at
Keter Torah. Among this year’s honorees are YIOT’s Helen & Eli
Goldberg, recipients of the EZRAH Award.
Youth News
Junior Congregation is starting this shabbat at 10:00a in
the Beit Medrash for 4th through 6th grade boys and girls.
This will be a parent supervised formal davening and will
feature Tefillah, Divrei Torah, and learning new Tefillot.
The Youth Department is planning this years Chanukah

The Youth Department needs volunteers to help improve
our programs. We are searching for members to serve on
the Youth Committee as well as coordinate specific events

Book Club Event
YIOTS’ next book reading will discuss Wickett's Remedy,
by Myla Goldberg on November 29th.
The Mikvah Needs Your Support
The Township of Teaneck has scheduled a special
meeting for November 7th at 7:00p (in the Library) to review
the new expansion plan for the Mikvah. Please attend this
meeting and show your support for this community project.
Bikur Cholim
Shabbat, Parshat Lech Lecha, is being dedicated by the Bikur
Cholim of Bergen County to draw awareness to the Mitzvah of
Bikur Cholim and the laws and sensitivities surrounding its
observance this year. For more information, go to
